For massive open-pit gold deposits, high-tonnage open pit mining is the best fit — costly upfront, but with high production rates and low per-tonne extraction cost. At our Astarakan and Andarian sites, ore is moved by heavy fleet from the pit to the heap leach pads.
Our processing route is heap leaching — the cheapest and most environmentally safe gold-recovery technology available. The system runs as a closed loop: water and reagents stay inside the circuit, with only modest top-up needed to compensate for evaporation.
The main advantage of heap leaching is that it protects the local environment. Because the cyanide solution is handled inside a closed leaching circuit (containment ponds, heap, drainage, ponds), any contamination of surface and groundwater is ruled out — and the environmental assessment has been approved by the national environmental authority.
